Order discounts will help you increase the average order value, drive repeat sales, and set your store apart.

In this article, we’ll show you how to create and automate bundles on Shopify in just a few minutes with Planet.

1. Create a promotion

The first step to creating a discount is to add a new promotion. To do this, go to the promotions page and click on "Add Promotion."

A pop-up will appear with the different available promotions. In this case, to create a bundle, you should select the "Order discount" preset.

2. Set up your promotion

1. Select the products

To create a promotion using any of the available presets, you need to choose the products to which the promotion will apply. There are three ways to select the products:

1. Individual products

Manually select the products by clicking the checkbox located to the left of each row in the table. You can filter the products to find them more easily, but keep in mind that in manual mode, you must select the ones you want to include. Filtering the products does not select them automatically.

For automatic selection, it is recommended to use the second option: Advanced Filters.

2. Advanced filters

The second option for selecting products is through a filter. For example, if you want to select products with a specific tag and/or that are in a particular collection, you just need to add that condition, and all resulting products will automatically be affected. If the tags or products in a collection change, the promotion will update to reflect those changes.

Additionally, you can add a stock filter as a condition, which allows you to automatically add or remove products from the promotion based on stock levels (e.g., stock > 20).

3. Entire store

As a final option, you can select the entire store, which will allow you to apply the actions to all current and new products you create. The promotion will automatically update and detect them.

2. Set up the discount

In this case, the only action required is configuring the order discount.

This configuration includes:

• Method: Choose between an automatic discount or a discount code.
• Discount options: This discount can be applied based on the quantity of items or the purchase amount, allowing you to customize the minimum quantity and the percentage or amount to be discounted.
• Maximum discount: Select whether you want to limit the total discounted amount.
• Maximum uses of the discount code: Select whether you want to limit the number of times the discount code can be used and how many times it can be used per customer.
• Cart and checkout label: Choose the text that will be displayed once the discount is applied to the cart and on the checkout screen.
• Combinations: This option allows you to decide whether to combine the discount with other product discounts or shipping discounts.

3. Configure widget

Optionally, you can add an order discount widget to your product page to display a recommended pack to your customers.

General settings

This setting includes customizing the title and subtitle to align with your brand. Select whether you want the banner to redirect to a specific link when clicked.

Fully customizable design

Adjust the colors, font size, and section rounding of the bundle to ensure the widget perfectly blends with your store's style.

All widgets allow you to add custom CSS code through the theme editor.

4. Schedule the Promotion

When you create the promotion, the creation date will be the default start date. You can edit the start date and time as shown below.

5. Advanced options

You can define specific conditions to apply the promotion, such as whether the customer is registered, their tags, order/spending history, whether it’s a subscription product or the market they belong to.
